Dear Swimmers and Parents:

I want to thank everyone for the wonderful farewell party last night. So many people, so many memories...

Thank you to the board of directors for their support over almost four years of almost constant change. Very few people like changing, it is uncomfortable, "we don't do things that way". But change is life, growth and transformation. We have gone from a club that was almost recreational to one with over-flowing lanes, swimmers in all levels of competitions, and national team members in a very short time. That doesn't happen because of one person: that is an organization growing and changing. And just like a child going through puberty, an organization too has growing pains. We are almost there.

There are exciting changes coming within the next year for the club and I know the club is strong enough to successfully rise to the challenge of these changes! How magnificent you will all be then! Embrace the changes, strive for excellence and show the rest of Denmark what I already see in you: a swim club capable of standing with the best in the country, shoulder to shoulder.

Thank you to our volunteers, tireless workers who put in many hours without pay or consideration of gain, purely for the sake of the swimmers and what is best for them. Everything they have done is to improve a child's opportunity of success in our shared sport. My affection and deep respect to them!

Thank you to my staff, my assistant coaches, who have helped craft the wonderful future awaiting the club. You might not have know why we had to do things a certain way, but you trusted me and did it anyway. Now your swimmers are skilled, strong and clever, and that foundation will carry them through to their future in swimming, and as young people moving out into the World.

Finally, thank you to my swimmers. You are, as individuals and a team, simply incredible. Thank you for our final weekend at DM-H together, for the gifts of your racing, the passion and pride you showed me. For showing me that yes, Coach, we did hear you, we did believe you, we did have as much faith in what you taught us as you have in us.

Thank you for letting me be part of your lives, and for being part of mine.

I will never forget you.
